Trained integratively, I work in a highly relational and collaborative way, using a predominantly person-centred approach with elements from psychodynamic concepts and cognitive-behavioural principles in line with my client's preferences. My working focus is on the person, supporting them to move from a place of stuckness and confusion, irrespective of the cause/origin of that stuck state. Issues that have come up more regularly in my client work have included: abuse, anxiety, bereavement, the crisis of faith, depression, disability, displacement, divorce, domestic abuse/violence, fear, frustration, isolation, lack of self-confidence, low self-worth, parental abuse, relationship difficulties, trauma.

Representatives from church-based counselling services are invited to meet on a quarterly basis confidentially to discuss key issues, receive peer support, share resources, good practice and training. The Forum will facilitate joint events and host meetings between churches and mental health services. The aim of this initiative is: to provide a network of support, to reduce counsellors/services working in isolation, to create a referral network and to ensure all counselling services are operating at the required ethical standards.
If you fulfil the criteria and are a member of a (Christian) church-based counselling service, and would like more information about the Forum please contact the Sozo Therapeuo email at info@sozotherapeuo.com.
A consultation service is available on request to churches who wish to set up a counselling service within their church. For further information contact the team at info@sozotherapeuo.com .
Sozo Therapeuo provides Clinical supervision and pastoral support to church leaders on an individual or group basis. Supervision provides a confidential, supportive space for leaders to discuss concerns and issues relating to their work with congregants and colleagues. Sessions are monthly and are 1-2 hours in duration depending on number of supervisees.
