Mental health awareness training for church leaders

Who is the workshop for?  


This is a training session, open to church pastors and ministry teams particularly from the Black Majority Churches, who are interested in learning what mental health is and how to manage it, and who are also interested in learning about themselves. 


These are training will provide knowledge and skill that can be used at church, work or in your personal life. The training provides an ideal foundation for possible progression to future mental health-related courses. 


We can provide tailored, in-house mental health training for ministers and team leaders within your church, please contact us for further information.

Sozo Therapeuo’s Mental Health Awareness Training for Church Leaders will equip you to:

Developed for leaders to increase confidence, improve effectiveness and maximise impact, this unique training course is a must for any progressive church community.

Church-based Therapy Forum

Representatives from church-based counselling services are invited to meet on a quarterly basis confidentially to discuss key issues, receive peer support, share resources, good practice and training. The Forum will facilitate joint events and host meetings between churches and mental health services. The aim of this initiative is: to provide a network of support, to reduce counsellors/services working in isolation, to create a referral network and to ensure all counselling services are operating at the required ethical standards.

Clinical supervision

Sozo Therapeuo provides Clinical supervision and pastoral support to church leaders on an individual or group basis. Supervision provides a confidential, supportive space for leaders to discuss concerns and issues relating to their work with congregants and colleagues. Sessions are monthly and are 1-2 hours in duration depending on number of supervisees.
